Bar

The bar has developed quite a reputation in the area for it's excellent selection of over fifty whiskies. Scottish, Irish, as well as American and Canadian bourbon styles. Great Scottish malts, the finest of the Irish and some of the best offerings from 'across the pond' can always be found on our shelves. We don't recommend that you try them all - unless you're staying a while...... but they're worth a wee browse!

When it comes to beers we're able to offer three different styles on draught. There's the very clean, very european Kronenbourg. The more exotic but increasingly popular Desperado (if you haven't tried it - here's your chance!) and there's a very welcoming MacEwans. We also provide the traditional French seasonal beers - 'Biere de Mars' - the beer that welcomes in the springtime, the lovely pale 'Blanche de Bruges' and the 'Biere de Noel' - the one that Santa drinks - allegedly.....

We also have a wide range of bottled beers from all over Europe and the UK. As well as plenty of good wines that appear in the restaurant as well as in the bar. Soft drinks and fruit juices are in good supply as well as the crucially important feature of any good village bar in France - good coffee!

In winter the bar's a cosy nook but on the long hot days and warm evenings of summer we have a green and shady enclosed courtyard and our parasols and tables out in front. In the French style - you sit still and we come out to your table! Relax!

We do a wide range of Bar Snacks which you'll find on our restaurant page.

In the evenings we like to entertain our guests and ourselves with some music. We have a good sound system and a wide range of recordings. It's often guests who sort out the selections for the evening! We also have Karaoke Evenings when new talent has been known to come to the fore. Every now and then - usually once a month in winter and more frequently in summer - we have live music. Sometimes pop, other times blues, folk or country. Whatever the style it’s always a great evening!

At the far end of the bar we have what the French call "billiards" but we know as pool. There's also 'baby foot' (table footy,) and we've a pinball machine and the excellent 'Megatouch' electronic games system.
